We do not accept unsolicited submissions except for the month of JANUARY each year. At all other times we only accept submissions from recognised literary agents. We do not accept submissions of poetry, fantasy or science fiction. We do accept fiction, non-fiction and (rarely) scripts (stage and screen). Mild erotica is ok but it must be well written and have a strong narrative. If you wish to submit a manuscript to us for consideration, send a brief enquiry using the form on the Contact Us page. If we like the sound of your proposal we will be in touch by email. Your enquiry should be brief but should include: any previous writing credits and a micro synopsis (a few paragraphs). If we're interested we will request a writing sample (3 chapters). If the writing sample impresses us we will then ask to see the whole manuscript and consider it for publication.
As part of Phosphor Books' innovative publishing strategy, we do not offer financial advances on manuscripts. Instead, we offer our authors a much higher percentage of profit from book sales. This strategy reduces the risk to all parties concerned and allows us to take on projects that mainstream coprorate publishers would not have the foresight to embrace. Phosphor Books' publishing strategy jettisons the old risk-heavy publishing model and capitalises on the benefits to authors of eBook technologies, print-on-demand publishing and the distribution channels of global book entities like Amazon, Createspace & Smashwords.
